Home Before Your Surgery



Step One
Arrive at the Institute 90 minutes before your scheduled surgery. Please check in with our surgery receptionist.

Step Two
After check-in, a registered nurse will:
  • Review your medical history.
  • Help you into surgery attire.
  • Mark your surgical area.
  • Answer your questions and address your concerns.

Step Three
Your anesthesiologist will meet with you:
  • To discuss whatever decisions you made regarding your type of anesthesia.

  • To reassure you about the safety precautions taken in the operating room.

  • To answer your questions and address your concerns about anesthesia.

Step Four
You will meet these five members of your surgical team:
  • Orthopedic Surgeon
  • Anesthesiologist
  • Surgeon's Assistant
  • Registered Nurse
