Please schedule an appointment with your family doctor for a physical exam. This should be done between 7 and 30 days before your surgery. Please talk with your doctor about how to manage your routine medications.
Medications
DO NOT take anti-inflammatory medications (including aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.) for 7 days before your surgery. However, over-the-counter Tylenol is permitted. Consult your primary physician before you stop taking medications such as Coumadin or Plavix.
Please talk with your family physician about your medications and how to take them prior to your surgery.
Dentist
It is required to see your dentist to complete any unfinished dental work. Doing so will help prevent infection.
Driving Home
If you are having anesthesia, you must have someone drive you home. It’s best to have a family member or friend available, one who stays in our building during your procedure. Please let us know if you need transportation assistance.
Second Opinions
It’s important to call your insurance company to see if pre-certification or a second opinion is required. If you’d like us to contact your insurance carrier, we’ll be happy to do that for you.
Bringing Your Children
If you plan to bring your children with you on surgery day, please let our concierge know ahead of time so we can make their stay equally enjoyable.
