What should I bring with me on the day of my procedure?
Our primary concern is your comfort during your procedure and recovery process. You may bring whatever personal belongings will make your stay more comfortable. It’s likely, though, that we will have everything you need.

May I use my medications from home?
Yes. But before you bring in your medications, please have them approved by your primary care physician and your surgeon.

Recovery room RNs store and administer all medications.

Will my family be kept informed during my procedure?
During your procedure, our operating room nurse will give frequent updates to your family. At the end of your procedure, your surgeon will speak with your loved ones and let them know how you’re doing.

How long will physical therapy last?
A physical therapist from Heartland Home Health Care will visit your home for the first three to five days following your procedure.

After the first few days, your physical therapy will take place at Advanced Physical Therapy right here, at the Institute or a local therapist if you are coming from out of town.
