ORTHOPEDIC CENTER OPENS IN APPLETON'S NORTH SIDE

APPLETON — The Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the Fox Valley opened its doors May 1.

The $8.9 million, 51,000 square-foot facility, ear U.S. 41 and Ballard Road, is staffed by eight orthopedic surgeons and houses advanced physical therapy and sports medicine, diagnostic imaging and an ambulatory surgery center.

The institute also has room to expand the facility a additional 25,000 square-feet.

The ce ter features bright surroundings with floor-to-ceiling windows that let the sun stream in. It also showcases a fireplace i the atrium a d waterfall i the mai lobby. The floor plan was designed so that patients would take fewer steps than inside a traditional hospital setting.

Information on the institute's Web site notes that each surgeon sees about 1,400 patients annually.
