Appleton, Wis. (August 14, 2008) – Starting Tuesday, September 2, the Orthopedic & Sports Institute will expand its services to northeast Wisconsin and beyond by offering professional podiatry services.
Todd Derksen, Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), has joined the Institute’s medical team. Son of primary care physician Jon Derksen,M.D. (Primary CareAssociates of Appleton), Dr. Derksen offers patients his warm interpersonal skills and can-do spirit, especially when it comes to difficult foot and ankle surgeries. Graduate of Chicago’s Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Sciences, Dr. Derksen has earned numerous awards; among them: the 2005 Michael L. Stone, DPM, Award for Outstanding Professional Conduct, the 2005 Proficiency in Podiatric Surgery Award, the 2005 Proficiency in Biomechanics and Orthopedic Diseases Award, and the Timothy Holbrook Memorial Award of Excellence inMedicine andOrthopedics, 2004. Dr. Derksen is a member of the American College of Foot and and Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
