FANTASY MOTO POWERS UP, PARTNERS WITH
THE ORTHOPEDIC & SPORTS INSTITUTE OF THE FOX VALLEY
- Safety and training the focus for extreme off-road motorsports -

Appleton, Wis. (August 16, 2008) – Warm weather is here, and that means off-road motorsporting for extreme-sports athletes, including Wisconsin’s 350,000 registered ATVers. It also means 18-hour days for Scott Biese, owner of Fantasy Moto, LLC, an Appleton company dedicated to promoting extreme off-road motorsports year round.

Local racer Bill DeGroot at the Off-Road Raceway in Wittenberg, WI, last August
“It’s really great to partner with the Orthopedic & Sports Institute,” said Biese, “especially since so many motocross champions are being trained and treated there.” Referring to the Institute’s trainers and sports medicine physicians, Biese said, “These people get it. This is the place to go for getting into peak physical condition and learning how to prevent serious injuries. But when injuries happen,” stated Biese, “the Institute is where to go to get better and back in the race sooner than anyone thought possible.”

The star-studded motocross lineup trained and treated at the Institute includes 16-year-old national champion Cody Janssen, who raced in Walnut, Illinois, on Saturday, May 10--his first national race after total knee reconstruction at the Institute in early September. Incredibly, Cody finished first in one race and second in another.

“Cody’s goal is to be a professional racer,” said Joel Janssen, Cody’s proud father, “so I insisted that we go to the Institute so Dr. Kuplic could repair Cody’s torn ACL. Dr. Kuplic repaired my knee years ago after a 3-wheeler motocross crash,” Joel continued, “and he fixed my hip after a snowmobile accident. Dr. Kuplic has the best bedside manner of anyone, anywhere. And that goes for Brad Borgen and Terry Moore in Advanced Physical Therapy too.”

Other extreme athletes trained and treated at the Orthopedic & Sports Institute include former state champion Scott Biese, national ATV champ Joe Havel; state champions Jesse and Travis Frassetto, national series front-runner Eddie Degeneffe, and local racers Bill DeGroot and Sam Cropsey.

“Motocross is in my blood,” Biese said with pride. “I got bitten by the bug as a five year- old, when I watched my uncles race. In this sport,” he said. “I don’t need to rely on teammates for my success. It’s all up to me, and that’s the way I like it.”

Since he took up racing years ago, Biese was injured “too many times.”Torn rotator cuff s, a broken femur, torn ACLs, and a damaged disk in his back resulted in Biese’s decision to retire fromracing-- his passion--to promoting it.
More motocross action at the
Wittenberg Off-Road Raceway in August 2007
