Best Year Ever: 2019 OSI/Miron 5K Fundraiser for AASD

This year’s $21,000 check to Appleton Area School District Athletic Programs was the largest in event history. That refers to the amount of the check. The physical size of the check has been consistently enormous.

Members of the Appleton Area School District were on hand Thursday, May 23 at OSI for the annual check presentation from the OSI/Miron April Fools’ 5K.

Courtney Vosters, OSI’s Community Program Director and 5K race coordinator, along with OSI COO Tammy Williams and Advanced Physical Therapy VP Jean Darling, presented a $21,000 check to AASD CFO Greg Hartjes and the activities directors from Appleton East (Tim Zachow), North (Nate Werner) and West (Jim McClowry). Money raised from the March 22 event is divided equally among the high school athletic departments.

Since the inception of the race in 2011, the OSI/Miron April Fools’ Fun Run/Walk has donated $141,000 to the AASD.

Next year’s 5K fundraiser – which celebrates the tenth anniversary of the event – is slated for April 3, 2020.

OSI and Advanced Physical Therapy are the exclusive providers of athletic training services for the District.

“Our relationship with AASD is based on collaboration,” said Darling. “While our athletic training program evolves to meet new challenges, the spirit of working together towards a shared goal is a constant. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s run!”
