We’re part of this community – and we’re passionate about keeping it healthy.
At OSI, we’re taking an active part in helping our community members live healthier lives. And we believe there’s no reason the Fox Cities can’t be the healthiest region in the country.
Medical Mentoring of the Fox Valley is the opportunity of a lifetime for high school students interested in medical careers, providing invaluable firsthand experiences that help students make educated decisions about their futures. This formative experience has the power to solidify career aspirations and transform lives.
Based on their interests, selected students from area high schools are paired with mentors at OSI or another medical facility. Students spend three half-days observing mentors in their day-to-day work environments, including fast-paced clinical and surgery settings. Job shadowing opportunities are available with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physical therapists, and surgical technologists.

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute places significant emphasis on the professionalism of Medical Mentoring students considering entrance into the field of medicine. It is therefore incumbent upon parents to refrain from making contacts to the program directors/job shadowing coordinator on behalf of your high schooler. All communication concerning job shadow opportunities will be conducted between the student and the directors/coordinator. Adherence to this expectation allows for the maximum growth of the participants throughout the experience. Learn more here.
