Dr. Robert Limoni, an innovative orthopedic surgeon and lifelong Wisconsin resident, has joined the Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the Fox Valley team of physicians.
Dr. Limoni specializes in joint replacement procedures and hip and knee surgeries. In 2009, he performed Northeast Wisconsin’s first anterior hip replacement procedure, and his goal in medicine has always been to better the lives of his patients. During his more than 19-year career, he’s invented numerous medical devices and products.
“I truly believe that in order to provide my patients with the best care possible, I need to continuously search for ways to improve the techniques and products we use to treat them,” Dr. Limoni said. “Joining OSI allows me the ability to keep up my quest for providing my patients with the safest, best outcomes.”
Dr. Limoni’s Wisconsin roots run deep. He grew up in Manitowoc, where his father was a physician, and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 1996. His internship and residency were completed at Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center and Michigan State University. He then returned to Wisconsin, where he’s been practicing ever since.
As an organization devoted to patient-centered care, OSI welcomes Dr. Limoni’s ideas and innovations, saying he will fit in well with the rest of the OSI team of elite orthopedic providers.
“Our physicians are highly trained to diagnose and treat any orthopedic issue, and we have all aspects of muscle, bone, and joint care covered,” said Curt Kubiak, CEO. “Having Dr. Limoni on our team will elevate the level of patient-focused care we’re so proud to provide.”
As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Limoni specializes in the following areas: anterior hip replacement; arthritis and total joint replacement; hip, knee, gender knee, and minimally invasive hip and knee joint/procedures; orthopedic trauma; sports medicine; and SI joint fusion.
Dr. Limoni has an impressive bio that shows his innovative mind. He co-authored the landmark publication for a new procedure called IFuse for SI joint disorders, which transformed treatment worldwide. Previously there was not an acceptable mainstream surgical alternative for this condition offered to patients. Dr Limoni is also the design surgeon for Matchgrade Medical in Neenah and The Peddler. He is actively working on a new line of surgical equipment for fracture-specific positioning aids.
When Dr. Limoni isn’t seeing patients and developing new medical devices, he’s busy running an organic farm, Door Karma Farms, in Door County, and enjoying the Wisconsin outdoors.
OSI has locations in De Pere, Appleton, Shawano, New London, Oshkosh, Ripon, and Waupaca. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Limoni today, please call 920-560-1000.
